OUR WEB DESIGN PROCESS

Stage One: Project planning and specification

This stage consists of an interview program and desk research that is assisted by
client response to our overview questionnaire and subsequent meetings.

Its aim is to establish:

1. The nature and expectations of your industy: To establish brand positioning

2. The characteristics of your company: To establish brand style

3. A descriptive definition of each page and its required functionality:
To establish technical specs.

4. Future aspirations and goals of the online brand: To establish potential for future
developments

Stage One is about gathering definitive intelligence at the outset to establish a total
understanding of the project expectations (visual and technical), and to form a central
idea or vision to anchor the ‘look and feel’ for all future visual brand design.

The outcome will be written and illustrated documentation that includes

1. A visual style brief

2. Page by page definition of the site and complete site map

3. Explanations of all interactive / dynamic / back-end components

4. Accurate costing for total project

Stage Two: Visual Style and Technical Construction

As a result of the project / brand investigation work carried out in stage 1, action will
be taken in two areas;

1. Visual style: An overall look and feel for all brand transactions

2. Technical specs: Plan of site architecture

Look and Feel:

Two alternate design styles will be supplied for evaluation. Each consists of two
notional pages from within the site to give you a cross section of pages to evaluate from.

Feedback from this first round of designs will narrow the possibilities for a second
round, with finer changes after a third reiteration (if necessary) to achieve an
approved design.

The approved design is then applied to a range of templates, initially supplied
as static images for approval. These are subject to the same evaluation process
as the initial design.

As a result of the information gained from our Web Specification Document,
certain backend features will be developed (once all content has been
approved) utilising the DNN content management system.

Stage Three: Technical infrastructure

Stage Three is where it all comes together. The static design templates approved
in Stage two are constructed as DNN templates and linked together to form a
Working Model of the site.

The backend content management system interface is designed will be implemented
by our strategic partner Loaded technology, according to the technical spec prepared
in Stage One. Mock interactive and graphic content (such as Flash movies and
photography if required) are designed and added to the working model.

At this stage you is able to move through the site and give feedback on the way
information is presented and linked together. This feedback may result in further
refinements to the sites architecture, navigation methods or graphic elements.

Stage Four: Review and construct

Upon signed approval of the sites base (achieved at Stage Three), accurate content
is supplied by you and entered into the working model of the site. The aim is to get
the site ready to GO LIVE.

All content should be as current as possible. This includes that which can be seen
(articles, company profiles etc) as well as that which is invisible such as Meta tags
and keywords for search engines.

Representatives of both client BCG/LOADED will review the Working Model and
supply feedback on their own experience of the site. This information is reviewed by
the team involved with managing the project and changes are made as required.

Stage Five: Documentation, training and support

Concurrent to Stage Four, simple illustrated documentation will be prepared. It will
outline the core processes of changing content on the site, supply specifications for
content creation as well as instruction on other back-end functions.

This final document would be made available online via a password protected interface
for content managers and creators.

Stage Six: Go Live!

The site is transferred to the live URL. Search engine registrations and promotion ensue.
